Tournament Format: 4-Player Scramble
The Grizzly Open will use the Scramble format where the four players on each team hit their own shot from the tee. The team then chooses the best of those shots.  Players whose shots were not selected go pick up their balls and each team member shoots their second shots from within one club length of where the team's “best shot” came to rest (except on the green where you must use a ball marker and all hit from the exact same place). You cannot, however, move from rough to fairway, or fringe to green. After the second shot, this process continues as many times as necessary until a ball is in the hole. The team score for each hole is how many “best shots” were used.  By playing in a scramble there is a good chance that 1 out of 4 golfers will have a pretty decent shot and every player can contribute to the team's success over 18 holes.  Each team must use at least two tee shots from every golfer during the round of 18 holes.

Scoring Limit
There is a maximum score of a double-bogey (par + 2 strokes) on every hole.  Once your team has reached a double-bogey, you must pick up your ball immediately, mark your scorecard for the double-bogey and proceed to the next tee.

Speed of Play
If an entire hole has opened up ahead of your foursome, you must skip the next hole, mark your scorecard with a double-bogey for the skipped hole, and proceed ahead one additional hole before resuming play.  This keeps the pace of play enjoyable for all golfers.
